The journey of becoming is no easy venture. Wether that is unraveling the truth of who you are, creating a life that is soulfully aligned or perhaps building a life of freedom and sovereignty. Our paths require great perseverance, dedication, trust, and surrender. And so this particular piece is an ode to this hero’s journey we find ourselves on. To capture this piece, we hiked in the pouring rain and winter winds. It was tumultuous and enduring, requiring grit and a hopeful vision that all this would be worth it. Just like our personal journeys, the creation of the art and the art itself is a reflection. And so the double rainbow that revealed itself to us after this was taken, shows us that after the painful climbs in our life, fortune awaits.

This print is of special value to me - it is the first of my work that I have printed and framed. It’s a symbol of this journey I have endured to become authentically myself and accept my artistic and creative value. 3 years into this burning passion circumstances led me to giving up on myself. I sold all my camera gear and moved on. Eventually, after another 3 years my loved ones guided me back to it, which led me into this particular shoot we call Elementals v2, the second iteration of my first editorial style shoot that I did before giving up on myself.

Printing and framing this is a full circle moment - or should I say, ascending spiral moment symbolised by the models necklace. It’s the moment we all get to, where we finally stand in our power at the top of our gruelling ascent. Here we stand, nourished by the inner reservoir, poised and unmoved by the passing storm. With one hand on the mind and another on the body, we carry a spirit strong in harmony, both intelligences working in tandem to hear the feminine pull of intuition.

This is about the Self - integrated, centred and claimed. The Anima fully embodied - not projected nor idealised, but lived. The creative force in us all and the return of our intuition, flow, and inner authority. May this piece remind you of your strength in this upward spiral of your life. May you remember who you really are and what you’ve done to get to where you are. This is your acclamation, where you stop questioning your Self and own it.
